About HiFiveStar
What is HiFiveStar?
The essentials about how we help local businesses.
HiFiveStar is an online reputation management platform built specifically for local businesses. It lets you collect new reviews via SMS, email, and WhatsApp; see your Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor and other reviews in a single dashboard; answer them with AI-assisted drafts; and showcase your best reviews on your own website.
HiFiveStar is built for local business owners and their teams — restaurants, salons, dental practices, auto shops, gyms, hotels, real estate agencies, and any business whose reputation depends on what customers say online. It also serves marketing agencies that manage reputation for multiple clients.
HiFiveStar combines three things most tools separate: proactive review collection (SMS/email/WhatsApp campaigns), one inbox for your reviews from Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor and more, and AI-powered reply drafting — all in one simple interface designed for busy business owners, not marketing teams. There's also a Forever Free plan so you can start without risk.
Yes. Every plan from Pro up covers several locations under one login: Pro 3, Growth 10, Business 25, Enterprise 50, and Unlimited as many as you need. On a computer, the Reviews screen's All Locations switch lists every location's reviews together, and each location manager sees only the locations you give them.
Over 2,000 local businesses use HiFiveStar to manage their online reputation, collect more five-star reviews, and respond to customers on Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and other review sites.
Getting Started
Setup & onboarding
How to get your account up and running fast.
Sign up free at hifivestar.com, with no credit card: every feature except texting is yours for 14 days, then the account stays on the Forever Free plan unless you pick a plan. Add your Google listing and your other review pages, and your reviews start coming into your inbox. After the trial, sending review requests starts on the Core plan ($39 a month).
Most businesses are fully set up in under five minutes. You find your Google listing by typing your business name, other sites take a link to your page, and your first review request takes another minute. There's no software to install — HiFiveStar runs entirely in your browser.
No. HiFiveStar is designed for business owners, not IT departments. Connecting platforms, sending SMS review requests, and managing responses all require no coding or technical knowledge. If you need help, our support team is available by email, and Pro+ plans include priority support.
Partly. Add your page on Yelp, TripAdvisor (hotels, restaurants and attractions), Zillow, Thumbtack, HomeAdvisor, Indeed or Glassdoor and up to its 50 most recent reviews come into your inbox, with new ones following on their own. Google works differently: it brings in new reviews from the day you add your listing, not the ones from before.
HiFiveStar is a responsive web app that works on any device through your browser — phone, tablet, or desktop. There's nothing to install.
Collecting Reviews
Getting more reviews
How to run review collection campaigns that actually work.
HiFiveStar lets you send personalized review-request messages to your customers by SMS, email, or WhatsApp. You can send requests by hand after each visit, or on Pro let Stripe, Shopify, Zapier or Make send one to each new customer automatically, right away or a few hours later. Reminders 3 and 7 days on (Pro) bring in the people who meant to and forgot.
A review funnel is the path from asking a customer for a review to the review being posted. On HiFiveStar it is your review page: one tap takes a customer to Google or your other review sites, and the page can also offer a private feedback form for anyone who would rather tell you directly.
Yes, on Pro. Connect Stripe, Shopify, Zapier or Make, or send customers from your own software to a private connection link, and each new customer gets a review request automatically, with no manual work needed.
No. Google explicitly allows businesses to ask customers for reviews. What's prohibited is incentivizing reviews (paying for them, offering discounts in exchange) or creating fake reviews. Google also does not allow discouraging negative reviews or asking only happy customers. HiFiveStar attaches no reward to a request, and following Google's rules is up to you.
Results vary by industry and how actively you run campaigns, but businesses using HiFiveStar's SMS and email review campaigns typically see a 3× increase in review volume within the first 90 days compared to doing nothing. The biggest factor is consistency — regular, timely requests convert far better than sporadic ones.
Responding to Reviews
Replies & AI assistance
How to manage and respond to reviews efficiently.
Yes for Google, once you connect it. Your inbox brings in reviews from Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor and five other sites. Connect Google for a location, and a reply you write in HiFiveStar posts straight to Google. Before you connect, Copy reply and Open on Google take you there to paste it. A reply to private feedback is emailed straight to the customer when they left an email address. For a review on another site, Reply opens it on that site; on Core and up, Write it for me drafts a reply for you to copy and paste there.
On Core and up, press Write it for me on a review: HiFiveStar reads the review's words and star rating and drafts an answer in plain words, which you can edit before you use it. On a Google review or private feedback, Reply then AI Reply does the same. A reply to private feedback goes straight to the customer by email when they left an email address. Once the location is connected to Google, you send a Google reply straight to Google. Otherwise, and for a review on another site, Copy reply and Open on the site take you there to paste it.
It writes as you, the owner: warm and plain, using the customer's first name, answering the specific thing they raised, in the language they wrote in. There are no voice settings to fill in, and every draft is yours to edit before you use it.
Absolutely. Responding to negative reviews shows prospective customers that you take feedback seriously and care about resolving issues. A thoughtful, professional reply to a 1-star review can actually improve how potential customers perceive your business more than a wall of 5-star reviews with no engagement.
Industry data shows that responding within 24–48 hours dramatically improves customer perception and increases the chance a reviewer will update a negative review after their issue is resolved. HiFiveStar emails you new private feedback the moment it arrives, and the Needs reply filter shows every review still waiting for an answer.
Platforms & Integrations
Connected platforms
Where HiFiveStar monitors and manages reviews.
Your review page can send customers to Google, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Amazon, Airbnb, Booking.com, OpenTable, Healthgrades, Zocdoc, Capterra and more than 25 other sites. Reviews from Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Zillow, Thumbtack, HomeAdvisor, Indeed and Glassdoor come into your inbox. The full list is on the integrations page.
Yes. Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is the primary integration. HiFiveStar reads your public Google listing every day, so new reviews reach your inbox within about a day with nothing to connect, and your review page sends customers on to your Google review form.
Yes, on every plan, Forever Free included. Widgets show your reviews as a carousel, feed, video, pop-up or badge: choose which review sites to show, show only 4 and 5 star reviews, and hide scores or reviewer details. The widget updates automatically as new reviews come in.
Not a developer API. On Pro and up, your own software can send customers to a private connection link (a name plus a phone number or email), and each one gets a review request. Zapier and Make connect most other tools the same way.
Yes, on Pro and up. Stripe and Shopify connect directly, Zapier and Make reach most CRM, POS and booking tools, and any system that can make an HTTP request can send customers to your private connection link to trigger a review request.

No. Every plan is priced on the pricing page, and paying yearly saves up to 28%. Agencies usually pick the plan that covers their client locations and give each client a login that sees only their own locations.
Online Reviews & Reputation
Expert answers about reviews
Industry knowledge — why reviews matter and how to win at reputation.
Online reviews are the digital equivalent of word-of-mouth — the most trusted form of marketing. 93% of consumers say online reviews influence their purchase decisions, and Google uses review count and average rating as ranking signals in local search. More positive reviews = higher visibility = more customers. A business with 200 reviews at 4.7 stars will consistently outrank a competitor with 20 reviews at 4.9 stars.
There's no fixed number, but research suggests businesses need at least 10–20 recent reviews to build trust with prospective customers. In competitive industries or major markets, 100+ reviews are often needed to rank in Google's Local Pack. More importantly than total count is recency — a steady flow of new reviews signals an active, trusted business.
The sweet spot is between 4.2 and 4.8 stars. A perfect 5.0 can actually reduce conversions because consumers suspect fake reviews. Ratings below 4.0 significantly reduce click-through rates and conversions. Aim for consistently high ratings with a realistic spread — a few honest 3 or 4-star reviews alongside your 5-stars adds credibility.
Reputation management is the ongoing process of monitoring, influencing, and responding to what customers say about your business online. For local businesses it specifically means: tracking reviews across Google, Yelp, Facebook, and other platforms; responding to every review professionally; proactively asking satisfied customers to share their experience; and using feedback to improve your products or services.
Respond quickly, stay calm, and keep it professional. Acknowledge the customer's experience, apologize if warranted, and offer a resolution (move the conversation offline with a phone number or email). Never argue or dismiss the complaint publicly. A well-crafted response to a negative review can convert a detractor and shows future customers that you stand behind your service.
Google Business Profile is the single most important review platform for business owners because Google reviews directly influence local search rankings and Google Maps visibility. After Google, the second priority depends on your industry: Yelp for restaurants and services, TripAdvisor for hospitality, Healthgrades/Zocdoc for healthcare, Facebook for general retail and services. The best strategy is to be active on Google first, then expand to the 2–3 platforms most relevant to your category. See our full comparison of the best review platforms for business for a side-by-side breakdown.
You can report a review to Google for removal if it violates Google's review policies — for example, if it's clearly spam, off-topic, or contains prohibited content. Google does not remove reviews simply because a business disagrees with them. Respond professionally to all reviews while flagging ones that violate policies.
Ask every customer, every time — but once per transaction, not repeatedly. The best time to request a review is shortly after the service is completed, when the experience is fresh and the customer is most satisfied. Automating review requests through a tool like HiFiveStar ensures every customer gets asked consistently without requiring manual effort from your team.
